turned and walked away with an unpleasant feeling growing inside her. It was a feeling that she hadn’t
known for a long time, not since she’d joined the school. She wasn’t even sure what
it was at first but then she recognised it: loneliness.
It’s the first day of term and Georgia gets the job of showing new girl, Stephanie around the school. But it looks like Stephanie doesn’t need anyone to introduce her. She’s confident and stylish and everyone likes her, including Georgia’s best friend, Jenny. In fact, it isn’t long before Georgia’s feeling left out and lonely.
So a few weeks later, when Stephanie and Jenny want to go on a shopping trip to buy clothes for a party, Georgia agrees to come with them even though she doesn’t have any money.
Then one night she’s baby-sitting and by chance she opens a drawer to find it stuffed full of money. The world seems to come to a halt around her and she has the weirdest feeling - as if everything that has happened to her so far has been leading up to this point.
